The Muslim Youth Center of Philadelphia offers many core religious services. Jumuah prayers are held year-round every Friday at 1:15 PM. We currently hold fajr and isha prayers in congregation on a daily basis. During Ramadan, taraweeh prayers are held every day, as well as special religious programs such as qiyam ul-layl. We also hold Eid prayers for both Eids. Additionally, we aim to provide opportunities for educational enrichment through Islamic lectures and workshops. See our Events Calendar for upcoming events!

The Quran Reading Program (QRP) focuses on building students’ ability to independently read the Qur’an in the Arabic language. After learning the Arabic alphabet, students move onto reading short words, and eventually, after much practice, gain fluency in reading. The science of Qur’anic recitation is also taught in these classes, so that students can learn to properly pronounce letters and follow the rules of recitation (tajwid). Some time is also spent on memorization of short surahs. Our Qur’an classes are taught by qualified and experienced instructors of Qur’anic recitation. Classes are available for children ages 5-18, and levels range from beginner to advanced.
